As my first post, I thought it would be fitting to write about some things to do while we’re saving the world (by staying inside). Below are some activities that I’ve done while stuck in quarantine. Also, please enjoy this wonderful Tik Tok if you have not already had the pleasure of getting it stuck inside your head.
This might sound like an easy one, but it’s hard to keep up a new habit. Try sticking with it! I’ve been journaling every night using these writing prompts. It really puts everything into perspective, and it gives you an opportunity to jot down what you’re grateful for.
I have been baking quite a bit this quarantine season, but I haven’t tried baking banana bread yet! However, I’ve made some amazing desserts over the past few weeks. Yum! Here are the recipes that I’ve used:
- Challah Bread
- Cinnamon Rolls
- Banana Pancakes
- Brown Butter & Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies – these were SO GOOD!
To take your mind off of the current situation, I recommend you start (and finish) a puzzle to clear your mind. I don’t have one on hand at the moment, but if I did, I would have this one or this one. *Shipping might be delayed*
I found some paint supplies lying around my house, and decided to paint some flowers to brighten up these gloomy days. I put up my artwork at my desk so I can see it every day!
For the first time in thirteen years, I rearranged my entire childhood bedroom and organized my desk for optimal focus while working from home. I recommend putting your phone on silent and putting it face down on the other side of your room to get things done!
I’ve been enjoying reading before I go to bed, and I’ve been loving the books I’ve read so far. I’ve been reading a variety of thrillers, self-help, mystery, and romance books. Check out my Goodreads account to see what I’ve been reading lately!
Take a Walk.
Since I’m at my childhood home, I’ve been walking my dog twice a day. It’s a great way to get some fresh air and to think without any distractions.
I am insanely blessed to be able to be stuck in the comfort of my own home, and I encourage you to donate to charities to help others in need. Here are some of my favorites:
- Feed the Children – Donate $1 to provide $7 worth of food and essentials!
- Red Cross – Donate blood if you can to those who need it!
- The CDC Foundation – Donate to the Emergency Response Fund to help combat coronavirus!
Stay safe and healthy! I’m praying for you all <3
