When I first started my job last October, I was staying at my uncle’s house while I saved up some money for an apartment. The problem was that I had to commute 1.5 hours to Los Angeles, and 1.5 hours back to San Gabriel. I was able to get through those long hours stuck in traffic with podcasts. I listen to podcasts that are informative, podcasts that make me laugh, and podcasts that are downright creepy. Here are my favorite podcasts that you NEED to listen to:
1. Crime Junkie
Crime Junkie is a crime-based podcast hosted by Ashley Flowers and Britt. These two make the show a little entertaining, yet there is an emphasis on making listeners aware of specific murder cases. Some of these cases haven’t been solved yet, and spreading the details along to listeners might be able to help law enforcement crack a case. It’s super interesting, but I wouldn’t listen to it at night alone!
Gals on the Go is a lifestyle podcast hosted by two gals: Danielle Carolan and Brooke Miccio. The duo met through YouTube, and they each have their own channels where they post vlogs, hauls, etc. Danielle is in college at the University of Georgia, and Brooke is navigating her life post-grad while being a full-time influencer. Their episodes range from topics such as updates on their lives as influencers to inspiring content on confidence and motivation. Their banter is really entertaining and it’s like listening to your friends talk!
3. The Daily
The Daily is a podcast from the New York Times that covers relevant news topics and keeps me well informed about what is going on in the world. The episodes are usually pretty short, and they release a new episode every day. The Daily podcast is educational, and I’m able to learn a lot about COVID-19 through it.
4. Thick & Thin
Thick & Thin is hosted by Katy Bellotte, who is an NYC-based graphic designer/YouTuber/social media entrepreneur. She used to work at L’oreal, but decided to focus on her own brand and do freelance work for various companies. She is truly inspiring, and her podcast covers romantic advice and her experiences working for herself. Katy also sprinkles some history into her episodes and talks about strong women who have changed the world.
The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast is comprised of Lauryn Evarts-Bosstick and Michael Bosstick. The two are married and just had a cute baby girl! They interview a bunch of different celebrities, CEOs, doctors, and more experts in their respective fields. Their podcast is loaded with information and you can learn a lot by listening!
I hope you love these podcasts because I sure do! What are some of your favorite podcasts?
