Since summer just started, I thought it would be fitting to write about my current natural makeup favorites. The heat in Los Angeles is no joke, and I try to keep my makeup pretty minimal during the summer. These products are what works best for me and they’re all cruelty-free and contain pretty simple ingredients. Here’s how I achieve a simple, glowy makeup look. Enjoy!
I honestly don’t use a primer because I don’t feel like primers do much for my skin. So instead, I start with wetting my Beauty Blender, and bouncing Glossier’s Skin Tint in the shade G6 all over my face and neck.
To set my face, I use Glossier’s Wowder Powder in Light/Medium. Next, I add Glossier’s Futuredew on the high points of my face, including my cupid’s bow, tip of my nose, cheekbones, and underneath my eyebrows. I also add highlighter to the inner corners of my eyes and in the middle of my eyelids to add even more glow. Highlighter is probably one of my favorite makeup products because it’s so easy to apply and really elevates your look!
I’ll usually do my eyebrows after. I use NYX’s Tinted Brow Mascara in Espresso and I just comb my eyebrow hairs out with the wand. Easy peasy.
For my eyelashes, I like to apply Milk Makeup’s KUSH Lash Primer before I apply Benefit Cosmetics’ Roller Lash Mascara. I’ve found that this mascara is the best for keeping my lashes curled all day. I also recommend Shisheido’s Lash Curler!
I love blush, and Glossier’s Cloud Paint in Dusk is definitely my favorite. Further, the product is in tube form so you can squeeze it out and a little bit goes a long way. I blend out the blush onto my cheeks, across the bridge of my nose, and sometimes, I put a little on my eyelids for some natural color. The Dusk color looks universally good on every skin tone!
If you hadn’t noticed, I’m kind of obsessed with Glossier. Their products are very natural looking and if you use my link, you can get 10% off here. Let me know what makeup brands or products I should try in the comments down below!
