Hi everyone! I’ve been currently loving long dresses and find myself reaching for them all the time. I can dress them up or down (usually down since I’m mostly staying inside) with accessories and some cute sandals. In this blog post, I’ll provide some styling tips and some more dress options that you can check out! Furthermore, I bought all of these dresses before COVID (except the red one), and am planning on wearing these dresses for a long time. 🙂

My favorite dress at the moment is probably this red one from Nordstrom Rack. The brand is Max Studio, and my boyfriend lovingly calls this my “Farmville Princess dress.” LOL. I would definitely wear this dress on a tropical vacation if we weren’t stuck at home. For now, though, I’ve been wearing this dress for special occasions, like for my dad’s birthday this past July.

Next, we have this lightweight black midi dress with little pink, blue, and white flowers from Princess Polly. In my opinion, I feel like it would be perfect to wear at a picnic with your friends or with a special someone. It has two slits on both sides and has adjustable straps (which is delightful). It’s called the “Quentin Maxi Dress” and unfortunately, it’s not available on the Princess Polly website anymore. However, I’ll link some more dresses I recommend at the end of this post!

In the fall or winter, I’ll layer a long sleeve turtleneck underneath the dress with my Doc Marten boots.

I purchased this dress from the sale section of Urban Outfitters this past winter and I’m obsessed with it! It’s simple and gives me some ~teacher vibes~. The great thing about this dress is that I can wear it in the summer or the winter with a long sleeve tee underneath! 🙂

Last May, I wore this green midi dress in my graduation pictures and they turned out great! I love the dress’ cut-out detail and tie in the middle. I put my hair up with a big clip, but I accidentally broke the clip (no surprise there). So, I decided on a half up half down hairstyle with another clip instead.

This TopShop dress is edgy but has some girly elements with the ruffle details along the bust area and down the middle of the dress. I called this the LBD dress for “long black dress” instead of “little black dress.” I feel like it would be acceptable for a piano recital, while also being perfectly wearable at a rock concert. I personally wore this dress to a live David Foster PBS taping since the attire was semi-formal. It’s a cute LBD to wear with black strappy slides and a pair of chic sunglasses.

Sunglasses – Chesapeake (my mom’s)

Silver leaf necklace – My sister’s

Silver bracelets – Alex & Ani

With a ruched top and slit on the side, this dress I got from Marshall’s screams summer. It’s perfect to wear as a swimsuit coverup or to dinner (safely) outside. This dress is so flattering and the best part has to be the pockets!

White sandals – Birkenstocks

In all of the photos, I’m wearing rings from Pandora and James Michelle. 🙂

Below are some maxi/midi dresses that I think are super cute for the summer! You can also try looking on ThredUp or Depop for some more options.

I’ve been currently loving long dresses that I can easily throw on so I don’t have to think about more than one article of clothing. I hope this gave you some inspiration to find your own personal style!

Do any stores come to mind that sell affordable and sustainable midi/maxi dresses? I’d love to hear your suggestions in the comments down below!
